1. Steinbeck had this fantastic ability to pivot a story on one word. I love your use of Unaware, it just takes the whole poem to a whole different destination.

   1. There was a back to school commercial, I think for Office Depot. The dad was ecstatically buying supplies while the kids looked on in horror. The background song was “Most Wonderful Time of the Year.” I think about that at the end of every summer

      1. I saw a similar commercial, but it was the mom who looked overjoyed, while back to school shopping with her kid. Loved it! Your haiku nailed it!
