begin in water
a stinking slime
of protein chains
so many links
of uncut summer fat sausages
emerge from the last life
dripping wet and bloody
emerge into the next life
pave the way
dripping
wet
bloody
our veins, rivers
leading to the ocean
of the heart
the salty water of
our throbbing veins
our throbbing heart
one ocean with many names
one heart in so many chests
we float
we drown
we float again

I admire anyone who posts their poetry. Both evocative and gutteral, a poem to be read more than once
Thank you.
Marvelous my friend
Thanks!
My pleasure
Very nice poem.
Thank you!
I don’t know why, but your fantastic poem made me think of evolution of man. I loved the images!
Thank you. 😘 I definitely had that in mind when I was writing it.
Science works well as a poetry prompt I think. (K)
It’s very inspiring.
A real theme of death, reincarnation, apocalypse, love and meatloaf emerging. I like it – a lot!
Thank you, my friend. Will you be throwing some more rhymes up soon?
I hope so. Struggling with time at the moment – hence the binge-reading.
Good. I hope to see more soon.
Thanks!
