the summer sky blue
wind waving dappled green leaves
and my pounding heart
So, I usually write a haiku on Friday. I love the form and I try to read a lot of the classic poets (in translation–my Japanese is practically illiteracy). Since I wrote a funny poem poem, I thought I should look for a humorous poem from one of the masters.
The fly on the porch
while rubbing its hands–

sleeps–breath rising and falling
then, of course, he farts
Holy crap, it’s the Friday Haiku. And since tonight we have a Supermoon™, you know what that means.
as big as a car
a single pockmarked headlight
for my summer’s end
no language has words
to contain what’s in my blood
no, nor my sorrow
refusing dinner
the post-surgery dog whines
demanding a treat
