we are breath (20170728)

we are breath

we are vapor

we collect ourselves
a pool in the corner of the mouth

shaken free by a word
by a second word
by a smile
we run
trace the muscle
from cheek to chin

we fall

Poem 20150525

May 25, 2015May 25, 2015 crow

you open your eyes
and i slide into being

turn away it’s as if
i’ve never been born

only a smudge, merely
a blurred image

parsed through a mirror
or a reflection in a pond
