wispy clouds reach
tentacles from some airborne kraken
floating in an inverted sea
will it wrap you in its scaly embrace
will it be warm
i too long to abduct you
like some mythological beast
but i offer
only human arms
broken hands
quiet whispers
——
The airborn kraken of an inverted sea… what a splendid image of those clouds.
Thanks so much!
I liked the idea of wanting to abduct the mythological beast even with broken hands.
Sometimes broken hands are all we have to work with…
“human arms
broken hands
quiet whispers”
~Awweee.. I’d take it anyway. π Great piece!
Thank you very much! And thanks for stopping by!
My pleasure. π
i too long to abduct you
like some mythological beast
but i offer
only human arms
broken hands
quiet whispers….love these lines
Thank you. I’m glad you enjoyed it.
I think I’d rather have broken hands holding me, rather than tentacles any day! Let me lend you my ears to hear your quiet whispers. Lovely!
Thank you, πΉ.
A romantic sea beast in the clouds! I’d be more than happy with
‘only human arms
broken hands
quiet whispers’!
Thank you π
but i offer
only human arms
broken hands
quiet whispers
How I love the tenderness of these lines β€οΈ Beautifully penned.
Thank you and thanks for stopping by! π
Poignant from the first wispy word. Lovely.
Thanks! I don’t often get “lovely” to describe my writing. Thank you for swinging by.
Reaching for a connection with longing and it passes by on tendrils of what if.
π
This is an excellent poem.
Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed it.
I love the first three lines and the tender finish
Thank you. Even a sea monster needs love!
The idea of an airborne kracken has me smiling…or maybe a bit afraid!
He just wants to be friends. π
Oh, good.
“some airborne kraken
floating in an inverted sea”
DELIGHTED by this. Thank you!
I’m so glad! Thanks for visiting.
I admire the turn to the human side:
but i offer
only human arms
broken hands
quiet whispers
Beautiful share ~
Thank very much. I don’t always know where the human ends and the monster begins.
Chasing dreams, chasing clouds, perhaps beast and human can lend a helping hand…
