beauty pageant (20181019)
water rushes in the gutter
an orange streetlight competes with half a moon
for prettiest flower
NaPoWriMo 2018 Day 6
red and gold
lightning on four legs
my little dog
new year’s eve approaching (20171229)
moon almost full
rolling on a parked car windshield
not exactly basho
super moon
you burn through my night
cold light closer than the clouds
dancing in my vision
worm (20171111)
worm on the sidewalk
wriggles and dances, whip crack
thrown to grass safety
naiku (20171029)
a gentle breeze
sucker punches the sycamore
not enough to bend it double
but enough to knock loose
a few leaves like teeth
spiralling and spinning
on their way down
a squirrel eyes me
suspiciously
like i’m the one
who egged the wind on
so i give him the finger
since my dog is too old
to give a shit
about a squirrel
halfway up a sycamore
how calming the wind is
how beautiful this fall dance
of leaves/teeth
how angry the squirrel
clinging like spiderman
to the bark
it’s a good
autumn day
halfku (20171014)
today
even the traffic
a river flowing
little friends (20171013)
i nudge the mantis
away from the closing door
he keeps all his limbs
get the squeegee (20170929)
windows 10, my own
personal hell–why won’t you
boot up
