The Headless Horseman, Bing Crosby
The clock is ticking down on this year. Better figure out how you want to tie up all those loose ends. I love this recording. You can hear the hiss of the record player. So old-fashioned. Perfect for an old-fashioned song about an old-fashioned idea.
Let’s Start the New Year Right, Bing Crosby
This was a hard one to pick. There are so many versions of it, you could put them end to end and listen just to this song for hours. And then you’d have to rinse out your ears with Goldschlager. It has gold in it. GOLD!
But this version is my favorite.
Jingle Bells, Bing Crosby and the Andrews Sisters
You can’t have Xmas without Bing Crosby. If you tried, all the atoms in every Christmas tree on the planet would implode into tiny black holes, taking all those ornaments, gifts, and those fancy tree skirts your great-grandma hand-made while she was traveling to America from the Old Country in steerage.
Seriously, you have to play at least one Bing Crosby song or we’re all screwed.
