of course since we are in the business
of promoting the public good
we believe in complete transparency
no no no–i don’t mean full disclosure
whatever gave you that idea
our secrets are our own and we
will gut you and your family to keep
from exposing them to the light of day
it’s not as if we want you to die in a fire
but there it is and there you are
by transparency we mean that we are in
the business of taking on the role of your
parents guardians in absentia as it were
guiding you molding you and turning you
into us because we’re the public
and that’s good

I actually kind of got a feeling of unease. The creeps even, because this brought many a thought of Cults, Body Snatchers, Evil Illuminati, so many other things that run through my mind.
Regardless, it was a fun read and I quite enjoyed it.
Consider me feeling blessed and impressed to read such a talented story. Thank you for sharing it with the rest of us.

I agree with Sin! That uneasy feeling crept over me, too. It’s a hypnotizing, helpless feeling that takes over and bends your will.
I think I was channeling advertisers or government cogs in the machine. ❤️
