leaves ( 20160829)

trees shaken by breezes
in summer when shadows
are crisp
in fall
when clouds hide
our other selves

books opened
favored passages
corners dog-eared

your love
in spring when belief
is easy
in winter when the leaves
are moldy memories stuck
to shoes

  1. I LOVE “memories stuck to shoes.”
At first I read it “memories stuck in shoes,” which I also love. I am not fond of anything but flip flops, and a few weeks of winter here in Southern Nevada require real shoes. I always feel “stuck” with them. 😉

  2. I was so intrigued by the clouds hiding our other selves and the way you have woven all of the seasons into your poem is lovely.
